Rotary Project 2009-2010
After watching a presentation Tejal and Ela Pandya made at a
Rotary Club of Porterville meeting, the then President, Mr. Wayne Foltz
contacted PFF with a desire to undertake a Rotary International
Matching Grant project. He was interested in providing medical
equipment to the Shamlaji Hospital. In order to accomplish his goals,
PFF member Ela Pandya identified and reached out to a Rotary Club near
Shamlaji Hospital, Rotary Club of Himmatnagar. After many phone calls
and emails that took to facilitate the dialogue and fulfilling the
documentation requirements, the process that started in April 2009 game
to fruition in October 2010. A total grant of $45652.00 was granted for
the purchase of digital X-ray machine, a cell counter for the
laboratory to analyze.
In this project PFF's contribution was only that of a facilitator
bringing the two Rotay Clubs together for the benefit of the tribal
residents of remote regions of Gujarat. We appreciate the opportunity
to be a part of such generosity on the part of Rotary International and
the selfless and much-needed service provided by Shamlaji Hospital.
